Punta Cana Airport/Hotel Transfer Policies

What is the cancellation policy?

  • Transfers: Minimum 6 hours before actual pick-up time: 100% refund
  • Tours: Minimum 1 week before actual pick-up time: 100% refund

You can cancel your reservation at any time by providing your reservation ID to our staff by calling or emailing our office during normal business hours. Please note that cancellations are only valid after you have received a cancellation confirmation by e-mail from our team.

Conditions Regarding Cancellation

A reservation may only be altered or canceled after consulting with our customer service office during normal business hours. Cancellations or changes must be notified to us minimum twenty-four (24) hours prior to the actual pick-up time. This can be done by e-mail or telephone.

Regarding the reservation of DR Day Trip transfer services in case of incomplete reservation details provided by the customer, the driver has the right to refuse to transport the customers if the security of the passengers cannot be warranted for (e.g. excess luggage not declared upon booking, no baby/booster seat booked, etc.). In this case, the client will be charged with 100% of the transfer fare as cancellation fee. Except are changes or cancellations due to force majeure.

Regarding any reservation cancellations up to twenty-four (24) hours prior to pick-up time will not be charged a cancellation fee. For cancellation of any services less than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the pick-up time, the client will be charged with 100% of the transfer fare as cancellation fee.

Regarding the reservation of any tour, day trip, or excursion services, cancellations up to 24 hours prior to the pickup time will not be charged a cancellation fee.  For cancellation of any tour, day trip, or excursion services less than seventy-two (72) hours prior to the tour, day trip, or excursion pick-up time, the client will be charged with 100% of the tour fare as cancellation fee. Any entrance tickets, arranged accommodation or other tour related items already purchased are non-refundable.

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that accurate information is provided during the booking process especially dates, exact times of pickup, and providing accurate Punta Cana Hotel Zone information.  The company website provides a list of hotels in each hotel zone.  

DR Day Trips owns and operates the airport/hotel transfer company and is wholly responsible for providing professional transfer services to its customers.  

Tours, day trips, and excursions are offered through the DR Day Trips website with DR Day Trips acting as a third-party reseller.  Each respective tour, day trip, or excursion has its own policies.  DR Day Trips is not responsible for any cancellations by these tour, day trip, or excursion operators.  Should a cancellation occur DR Day Trips will refund 100% of the tour, day trip, or excursion payment or offer an alternative date for the event.  

DR Day Trips provides liability insurance as part of the purchase price for any transfer, tour, day trip, or excursion booked through the DR Day Trips website.   Insurance rules, coverages, and limitations apply.

COVID19 Cancellation Policy
We know you value flexibility and we want you to have peace of mind when booking with us especially during these times of COVID19 impacts.   That’s why the vast majority of products available on www.drdaytrips.com offer our Standard cancellation policy. This means, your bookings are refunded in full if canceled at least 24 hours before the start of the booking. 

We have three types of cancellation policies: 

  • Standard 
  • All Sales Final 
  • Other (neither Standard nor All Sales Final) 

Our ‘Standard Cancellation Policy’: free cancellation up to 24 hours before This covers the vast majority of experiences bookable through www.drdaytrips.com and allows for a full refund up to 24 hours before the start of the booking (if the experience does not have an explicit start time, the deadline to request a change or to cancel will generally be 11:59 pm in the provider’s timezone, two days before the start date). To cancel your booking, you must contact Dr Day Trips by phone or email prior to the 24-hour window.  

‘All Sales Final’ or other non-standard cancellation policies ‘All Sales Final’ applies to a small number of products with stricter cancellation and refund policies. Some bookings may also be subject to non-standard cancellation policies, as described at time of booking. For travel dates on or after July 1, 2020, we will only offer full refunds for bookings with an ‘All Sales Final’ or other non-standard cancellation policy if the booking was made on or before May 4, 2020. For such bookings made after May 4, 2020, the cancellation policy as stated at time of booking will apply. Cancellations within 24 hours of the activity start time Cancellations within 24 hours of the activity start time are non-refundable. As of July 1, 2020, we will only offer full refunds in these circumstances if the booking was made on or before May 4, 2020. For bookings made after May 4, 2020, cancellations within 24 hours of the activity start time are non-refundable. Other eligibility criteria for booking changes or cancellations If you have a booking with us that isn’t covered in the policy above but has been impacted by COVID-19, you may still be eligible to change or cancel your booking if: 

  • You are impacted by the travel and/or disease control restrictions implemented by your local authorities or the authorities in your destination of travel. 
  • You are a medical professional and must perform duties in connection with the COVID-19 outbreak. 
  • You have been diagnosed or are suspected of being infected with COVID-19 by health authorities.

In any of these cases, you may cancel your booking by contacting us by phone or email. 

Frequently Asked Questions

I need to cancel my booking. How do I do that? To cancel your booking you must call or email DR Day Trips 24 hours or more prior to the event pickup time.  Our online reservation system DOES NOT allow for cancellations online, you MUST call or email DR Day Trips directly.  Contact us if your booking is “All Sales Final” or “Non-Standard”, or you are unsure how the cancellation policy applies to you. 

The experience I had booked is closed due to COVID-19. Am I still eligible for a refund? Yes. If the experience or transfer you have booked has closed due to COVID-19, you will be eligible for a refund. In most cases, our Customer Service team will contact you to process your refund if an experience is closed or canceled due to COVID-19. However, you can also request a refund yourself. 

The situation is improving in some countries, is it safe to start to plan travel and book experiences in those destinations? At DR Day Trips, your safety and well-being is our top priority. As COVID-19 continues to spread globally and many countries tighten restrictions on non-essential activities, we recommend you check and follow guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO) and your local government authorities.
